We Are Prepared For Your Dental Emergency

As far as patients with an emergency, if they are patient of record and they're having a problem, I'm available to my patients pretty much anytime. I had a patient that called me on a weekend. They were having some toothache that was not getting any better. They called me I believe it was on a Saturday. I met them at the office. Took a look, see what the problem was, we made an adjustment. It seemed to be a bite issue. That helped them out a lot. It made their weekend more comfortable.

Your dental care isn’t always neatly planned. Between accidents, injuries, neglect, and plain old bad luck, you could face a dental emergency any time of day or night. To prepare for this, we keep time in our daily schedule to see you on the same day you call with an emergency. While we cannot guarantee to see everyone when they call, we can usually move things around to fit you in. And if you call our office at 541-779-4196 or 541-773-4435 after hours, our recorded message will give you a phone number to call in case of emergencies.

But Are You Prepared?

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, as they say. To help prepare for a dental emergency, you should create a dental emergency kit. It should include our phone number and website address, some sterile gauze, and a small sealable container just in case a tooth is knocked out. You can also help prevent emergencies by getting a custom-made athletic mouthguard from us and wearing it regularly when playing sports.

What Counts As A Dental Emergency, Anyway?

Not every situation requires immediate care, but you should err on the side of caution and call us at 541-779-4196 or 541-773-4435 if you think you have an emergency. We would much rather speak with you. But here are some guidelines as to what constitutes an emergency.

If you are bleeding from your mouth or gums and cannot make it stop, please visit your emergency room instead of calling us. The most important thing then is to stop the bleeding.

If you have an injury or accident that has caused a big crack in your tooth, broke off a part, made the tooth loose, or knocked the tooth out, call us immediately at 541-779-4196 or 541-773-4435. We will either see you as soon as possible or refer you to someone who can help.

If a tooth is giving you a serious amount of pain, again, call us immediately.

How Can I Make An Emergency Appointment?

You can give us a call at 541-779-4196 or 541-773-4435 and a member of our dental team will walk you through what you need to do next. We are normally able to see emergency patients the same day you call us. If we are closed, our recorded message will give you an alternate number to call and reach Dr. Vareldzis.

If It’s Not An Emergency, Can I Still Make An Appointment?

Of course! Remember, you are always welcome to call us even if you’re not sure if it’s an emergency. Call us at 541-779-4196 or 541-773-4435 or send us a message using our convenient online form. The sooner we hear from you, the sooner you can get the help you need.
